It is in this place where the Celia B showroom is located , the eponymous brand of the designer Celia Bernardo (Oviedo, 44 years old). In recent years you may have seen their creations on the covers of fashion magazines, television shows or successful Netflix series. Her style is so particular that her designs are immediately recognizable. Celia B is a commitment to a colorful and sophisticated aesthetic, which represents the perfect alternative in a world inclined towards uniformity, where the trend towards dark tones is becoming increasingly stronger. In conversation with the creator of the brand, she tells us about her beginnings and the long journey that has led her to become a renowned designer.
Color is the protagonist in Celia B's designs. How would you describe Celia B's style? I would define Celia B's style as maximalist and sophisticated. I have a very personal style, a unique and very recognizable identity that goes Bahamas Mobile Number List beyond trends. Celia B's aesthetic is immersed in a rich palette of colors and details, creating unique pieces that challenge monochromatic and minimalist designs. Sophistication, for its part, is manifested in the careful selection of materials, attention to details and the brand's ability to merge different styles with elegance to go beyond the conventional. Celia B wants to capture the very essence of individuality and creative expression with special elements in each design. Where and how did the brand emerge? The history of the brand arises from my concern for creativity. I always had the desire to design, and although I studied advertising, I felt that something was missing in my creative expression. I started experimenting, customizing my clothes and creating earrings. As I immersed myself in design, I discovered that I had a talent for it. My professional journey took a turn when I worked as an accessories designer for a large company.
However, the real turning point came when I decided to move to Shanghai in 2012. What I originally planned to be one year turned into six, completely transforming my perspective. How did Shanghai change the way you look at design? The dynamic and vibrant energy of Shanghai perfectly complemented my active and idea-filled nature. This period not only opened my mind, but also consolidated the decision to undertake and create something of my own. It was in China where the seed of the idea germinated and I was able to create Celia B. Celia Bernardo in her showroom, wearing one of her designs. Is there anyone else in your family who has started or are you the first? I don't come from a family of entrepreneurs. In fact, I am the first to venture into the business world. The experience of being the first in my environment in the entrepreneurial field has been marked by uncertainty and the exploration of the unknown. Although it has been a challenging path, it has also been incredibly enriching, and I have always had the unconditional support of my parents and family. Despite the doubts and ups and downs, they have been by my side every step of the way.
